Brief Description of Document

VillageWEB (women entrepreneurs of Bangladesh) is a pilot programme which supports women traders to form business networks and, as a collective, establish contracts with wholesale producers of consumer goods so that they can receive better quality products at lower costs.  In addition to providing improved income-earning opportunity, the model brings savings in costs and time for rural women consumers in Bangladesh, who have easier access to household products.  VillageWEB’s first major company partner/client is Bata Shoe Co., maker of footwear designed for low-income families.
