CARE has recently been awarded a 5-year follow on to the PSNP Plus initiative in Ethiopia. A premier example of how CARE’s established practices can be combined in innovative ways to support progress toward food security, PSNP Plus represents an example for CARE’s work in market engagement, financial services and food security globally. This report provides summary findings from an impact evaluation conducted by Tufts University on PSNP Plus.

Through a combination of integrated, market-led interventions, CARE is empowering 42,414 Ethiopian households, each of which is currently receiving support through the national safety net program (PSNP), to make informed decisions about scarce resources while facilitating their entry into markets and access to informal and formal financial products and services.
